Research activity based on the principles of Evidence-Based Medicine

Scientific research at “Royal Metropolitan University” (RMU) is a fundamental component of the academic process. The university’s research policy is based on a commitment to the principles of Evidence-Based Medicine, ensuring objectivity, reproducibility, and clinical validity of the results obtained.

Priority areas of research activity:
The research work at RMU is systematic in nature and focused on implementing scientifically grounded approaches in the following areas:

  • Environmental impact on health: Study of the effects of climate change on the physical and psychophysiological state of humans. The mechanisms of adaptation of different age groups to changing environmental conditions are investigated using modern biostatistical methods.
  • Socially oriented medical technologies: Analysis and development of evidence-based measures aimed at preserving public health and improving effective mechanisms of medical and social support.
  • Evidence-based pharmacotherapy: Study of the efficacy and safety of medications for socially significant diseases. Particular attention is given to evaluating the therapeutic potential of herbal medicines through clinical research.
  • Prevention and epidemiological control: Conducting research on the prevention and monitoring of infectious and non-infectious diseases, based on the principles of evidence-based epidemiology.

Development of scientific publishing and academic ethics:
The university carries out targeted efforts to strengthen the evidence base of research and enhance staff qualifications:

  • Publishing activity: Since 2022, RMU has been publishing the scientific journal Royal Health Review, which serves as a platform for disseminating verified scientific data and promoting critical analysis of medical literature.
  • Encouraging publication activity: Within the quality management system, a “Regulation on Faculty Remuneration” has been implemented, предусматривающее incentive payments for publications in reputable international databases (Scopus, Web of Science, RSCI). This motivates staff to conduct high-quality research that meets global standards of evidence.

Scientific events and continuous development:
To maintain a high level of competence among faculty and medical professionals, the university regularly organizes:

  • Methodological seminars and schools on research methodology, biostatistics, and critical appraisal of clinical data.
  • Training sessions on the use of digital technologies in diagnosis and treatment, based on up-to-date international guidelines.
  • Lecture series featuring experts in evidence-based medicine from Kyrgyzstan and other countries.

“Royal Metropolitan University” is steadily developing as a scientific and educational center, where the integration of evidence-based medicine principles into both educational and research processes ensures the training of highly qualified specialists and the effective resolution of current healthcare challenges.
